The village of Catterline is located off the A92, approximately 5 miles south of Stonehaven. Upon entering the village of Catterline you will immediately see street signs on the left hand side for “Northend”, turn left here. Follow the road round to the right, passing the school playground on your left hand side. Northend Cottage is the last cottage on the left, painted white with the number 19 on the wall. Please note Catterline does not have a village shop. The nearest shop for provisions is Stonehaven, 5 miles to the north or Inverbervie, 5 miles to the south.

Sitting 5 miles south of Stonehaven at the end of a traditional terrace of fisherman’s cottages, perched on the cliffs overlooking the bay and harbour of the historic fishing village of Catterline, the views from Northend Cottage are truly breath-taking. Guests can gaze out to sea for as far as the eye can see and listen to the sound of the gulls and waves.

From Northend, a path leads down to the harbour and the shingle beach below and is only a few minutes walk. A short stroll along the cliff top path, (150 yards), will take guests to the Creel Inn, famous for its locally caught lobster and crab and selection of real ales. Catterline has long been associated with many artists who have been inspired by the dramatic seascapes and idyllic seclusion and guests at our wonderful cottage will find it easy to see why.
